As we enter the “dark” training months the mornings get earlier, and the weekend training gets longer. It’s an amazing time to reflect, think, and push yourself to be better. Westlake is a beautiful area. You don’t feel as if you are in a city when rolling past amazing ranches with horses and the smell of fresh country air. It’s a sneaky ride we embark on because it has a few climbs and rolling elevation that adds up. Adds up enough in fact to be our biggest climbing to date at over 3000 feet. We started with a chilly morning, but got warm quickly on those hills, and finished with a 6 mile run. We then did a quick b-line to breakfast (at 12pm). With about 6 weeks left of training, we are well on our way.
